Jakarta (ANTARA) – Indonesia's National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) said on Monday that 57 landslide victims in Cisarua Sub-district, West Bandung, West Java, have been identified, with all bodies handed over to their families.BNPB Disaster Data, Information, and Communication Center head Abdul Muhari said the identification process was conducted using antemortem and postmortem data collected by the police's Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) Team since the first day of evacuation.Based on preliminary data, as of Sunday at 4 p.m., the joint search and rescue (SAR) team had transferred 74 body bags to the DVI Team. Of that number, 17 bodies are still undergoing forensic examination and identification.Muhari said the identification process was carried out carefully to ensure accuracy before the bodies were returned to the victims' families.He added that inter-agency coordination involving the police, BNPB, the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), local governments, and referral hospitals continues to expedite victim handling and recovery efforts.According to the latest data, 517 evacuees have returned to their homes, while 159 people remain at evacuation posts.Muhari said the SAR operation resumed on Monday, with personnel expanding the search area and deploying at least 18 units of heavy equipment to search for six people still reported missing.He noted that light to moderate rainfall continues to hamper operations in the field.An extreme rainfall-triggered landslide buried dozens of houses in Cisarua, West Bandung, West Java, early on January 24, killing at least 80 residents.
