Deputy Minister inspects Jakarta-Cikampek toll rest area ahead of Eid

Karawang, West Java (ANTARA) – Deputy Minister of Public Works Diana Kusumastuti inspected the KM 57 rest area on the Jakarta–Cikampek (Japek) Toll Road on Tuesday to ensure toll road services and infrastructure are ready to accommodate Eid travels.During the inspection, she confirmed that major road repairs had been completed as scheduled ten days before Eid, to support smooth and safe travel for homecomers.Although large-scale repairs are finished, she noted that light maintenance will continue regularly, particularly to fill small potholes still found at several points.Accompanying her were the Head of the Jakarta–West Java National Road Implementation Office under the Directorate General of Highways, Rina Kumala Sari, and representatives from the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT).Also present were Yaya Ruhiya, Director of Operations at state toll road operator PT Jasa Marga, and Pratomo Bimawan Putra, Operations Director of PT Jasamarga TransJava Toll (JTT).Putra stated that JTT consistently preserves toll roads through routine maintenance programs to keep pavement quality optimal.“To maintain comfort and safety for road users, JTT has deployed 35 patching teams across all Trans-Java Toll sections it manages. These teams respond quickly to potential pavement damage, ensuring road conditions remain safe and well-maintained,” he said.In addition to maintaining road conditions, JTT continues to improve rest area services, especially during the Eid homecoming period.He added that infrastructure preservation and service improvements are key to JTT’s operational readiness to accommodate increased mobility during Ramadan and Eid.Moreover, his side also strengthened operational readiness through optimized toll gate transactions and intensive coordination with stakeholders to ensure safe, comfortable, and smooth travel on the Trans-Java Toll Road.
