Two suspects sought in killing of Dutch national in Bali

Badung, Bali (ANTARA) – The Badung Police have identified the physical characteristics of two suspects believed to be responsible for the killing of a 49-year-old Dutch national, identified by the initials RP, in North Kuta, Bali.Badung Police Chief Adjunct Sr. Comr. Joseph Edward Purba said on Wednesday that the leads were developed through crime scene forensics and witness testimonies.While the suspects' identities and motives remain under investigation, investigators are refining their physical profiles to track their movements.”We have identified two suspects, but their detailed characteristics are still under investigation,” he said.Investigators have questioned five witnesses and are continuing the investigation, including reviewing CCTV footage and gathering information from people close to the victim.They have not found any link between the victim and the perpetrators.”We are still exploring facts, including the possibility of issues between the victim and other parties,” Purba said.Preliminary immigration data shows the victim had been in Bali since 2024 and had traveled in and out of Indonesia several times. The victim was also known to have several businesses in Bali.Police said reports that the perpetrators are foreign nationals have not been confirmed. The possibility that they fled abroad is also under investigation.They have coordinated with immigration authorities, but no travel ban has been imposed as the suspects' identities remain unknown.Police are also investigating the possible use of online motorcycle taxi jackets to conceal their identity.”Such jackets are easily obtained and often used to disguise identity,” he said.The investigation is ongoing to determine the suspects' identities and motives.Earlier, the victim was stabbed by two unidentified men at Villa Amira No. 1 in North Kuta, Badung, on Monday.The incident occurred at around 10 p.m. local time when the victim and a female witness were walking toward the villa.Two men on a black motorcycle approached and attacked the victim with a sharp weapon. The witness fled.The victim was later taken to BIMC Kuta Hospital but was pronounced dead at 11:29 p.m. due to blood loss.
