Jakarta (ANTARA) – Indonesia’s para-archery team delivered an impressive performance, bringing home three gold, one silver, and two bronze medals from the World Archery Para Series – Bangkok 2026, held from March 30 to April 4.The three gold medals were secured by Kholidin in the men’s individual recurve, the duo of Noviera Ross and Riyanti Ananda in the women’s recurve team, and the pair of Riyanti Ananda and Kholidin in the mixed recurve team event.Kholidin dominated the competition from the opening round, defeating Thailand’s Thotsaphon Prasoet 6-0 before maintaining his momentum with a 6-2 victory over South Korea’s Jihoon Lee in the second round.His consistent performance carried into the quarterfinals, where he edged out host-nation athlete Hanreuchai Netsiri in a hard-fought 6-5 victory. He then secured his spot in the final with a 6-0 victory against fellow Indonesian archer Setiawan.In the gold medal match, Kholidin claimed the top prize by defeating India's Harvinder Singh with a final score of 7-3.Meanwhile, Setiawan still contributed to Indonesia's medal haul, securing bronze in the men’s recurve after a 6-2 victory over South Korea’s Kwak Geon-hwi.Furthermore, together with Ananda, Kholidin secured the gold medal with 6-2 against Thailand's Phattharaphon Pattawaeo and Hanreuchai Netsiri in the mixed recurve final.From the women’s recurve team, Ross and Ananda bagged gold with a 5-3 victory over Thailand's pair, Phattharaphon Pattawaeo and Nampet Phullphol.Ananda further increased Indonesia’s medal haul by claiming bronze in the women’s individual recurve, clinching third place after edging out Slovenia’s Ziva Lavrinc in a 6-5 match.In the compound category, Indonesia earned a silver medal through the mixed team pairing of Teodora Audi Ayudia Ferelly and Arif Firmansyah, who finished as runners-up to India's Sheetal Devi and Toman Kumar, with a final score of 146-153.Based on the medal tally released by World Archery, Indonesia secured the second rank with a total haul of three gold medals, one silver medal, and two bronze medals, below India, which secured seven gold medals, three silver medals, and three bronze medals.
