‘Dana IndonesiaRaya’ strengthens cultural ecosystem: MPR

Jakarta (ANTARA) – Deputy Chair of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) Lestari Mordijat said that the transformation of Dana Indonesiana into Dana IndonesiaRaya endowment fund for culture is a strategic move to strengthen the national cultural ecosystem.She said the program reflects the government's commitment not only to provide funding but also to build adaptive, inclusive, and sustainable governance in the national cultural sector.“Appreciation for the launch of the Dana IndonesiaRaya program,” she said in a statement here on Tuesday.According to data from the Ministry of Culture, the number of beneficiaries increased from 346 in 2024 to 2,117 in 2025 out of around 7,000 proposals received.This year, as of March 31, 2026, total beneficiaries reached 3,036, with disbursements totaling Rp594 billion.She said the sharp increase shows the high demand among cultural practitioners.According to her, Indonesia has strong potential to develop the culture sector, with Dana IndonesiaRaya disbursements reaching Rp594 billion and the fund currently totaling Rp6 trillion.Mordijat emphasized the need for broader promotion of the program to reach cultural actors across the country.“Outreach must be massive and touch grassroots communities. This excellent program should not be known only to a few people,” she said, adding that the Ministry of Culture should collaborate with strategic partners such as Cultural Preservation Centers and local governments.Dana IndonesiaRaya continues the Cultural Endowment Fund Utilization Program, which has had a real impact on Indonesia's cultural ecosystem. The renaming reflects strengthened governance, broader program coverage, and improved service quality for cultural practitioners.Minister of Culture Fadli Zon launched Dana IndonesiaRaya as a transformation of Dana Indonesiana on Thursday (April 2).
