Prabowo consults Putin on global geopolitical uncertainty

Jakarta (ANTARA) – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto met with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin in Moscow on Monday to discuss the increasingly uncertain global geopolitical landscape.“Your Excellency, I have also come to consult with you as the global geopolitical situation is developing and changing very rapidly,” President Prabowo said, as quoted from the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube livestream on Monday.During the meeting, Prabowo noted that the rapid global geopolitical shifts necessitate perspectives and input from other parties, including Russia.He added that Russia plays a positive role in navigating the current uncertainties of global geopolitical dynamics.According to him, Indonesia must engage in consultations to address future challenges, while also exploring ways to deepen bilateral cooperation. Key areas of focus include the economy and energy, as part of a broader effort to strengthen ties between the two nations.The President asserted that he would personally oversee cooperation in fields that are not yet optimal, stressing his commitment to directly monitor progress in monetary affairs.He also affirmed that most of the deals discussed between Indonesia and Russia several months ago have shown significant progress.Furthermore, President Prabowo expressed appreciation to the Russian Government for the support it has given Indonesia, including in its accession process to BRICS.”President Putin has shown support for Indonesia in several areas of critical importance, providing backing for our needs,” he remarked.President Prabowo departed Jakarta on Sunday night from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base and landed in Moscow on Monday morning local time.His entourage includes Foreign Affairs Minister Sugiono, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
