Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) received a courtesy visit from three Pakistani vessels—warships Taimur and Aslat and submarine Hangor—in Jakarta to strengthen bilateral relations.Operation Assistant of the Naval Regional Command (Kodaeral) III, Colonel Boy Yopi Hamel, welcomed the three vessels at a dock in Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, on Tuesday (May 19), according to a press release cited on Thursday.“The three Pakistani warships come not only for a mere technical stopover. Their visit symbolizes our strong bilateral ties. We hope to further deepen the synergy between TNI AL and the Pakistan Navy to promote cultural exchange between the two countries,” he noted.Led by the Commander of the 18th Destroyer Squadron, Commodore Omar Farooq, the Pakistani delegation also visited the headquarters of Kodaeral III in North Jakarta for a closed-door meeting.In addition to high-level talks, the fleet was scheduled to join friendly sporting matches, host an onboard diplomatic reception, and organize ship tours for TNI AL personnel and the wider public.
