Indonesia Travel Fair 2026 targets Rp60 billion in transactions

Jakarta (ANTARA) – Indonesia Travel Fair 2026 will return for its 21st edition under the theme “The World on Sale is Back,” aiming to support recovery in tourism, aviation, hospitality and health tourism industries.The exhibition, scheduled for May 29-31 at Jakarta International Convention Centre, is targeting more than 30,000 visitors and potential transactions exceeding Rp60 billion.Vincensius Jemadu, acting deputy for event development at Indonesia’s Tourism Ministry, said in Jakarta on Thursday that the ITF 2026 plays an important role in strengthening the country’s tourism ecosystem through cross-sector collaboration.“We expect the event not only to boost tourist movement but also strengthen Indonesia’s competitiveness as a leading destination in the region,” he said.The exhibition will bring together travel agents, airlines, tourism boards, hospitals and healthcare institutions. Visitors will be offered discounted airfares, domestic and overseas travel packages, umrah programs, medical check-up packages and wellness products.Indonesia Health and Tourism Society Chairman Sandiaga S. Uno said integration between healthcare and tourism offers significant opportunities to create a new engine of economic growth for the country.“We are proud that, for the first time, nearly all major hospital networks are participating together, representing more than 300 quality hospitals in Indonesia through one national health tourism collaboration platform,” Sandiaga said.The initiative is also expected to strengthen Indonesia’s position as a more competitive health tourism destination in Asia and globally.ITF Chairman Panca R. Sarungu said this year’s exhibition is crucial for supporting recovery in Indonesia’s tourism industry amid global challenges, including the impact of the Middle East crisis on travel markets.“We hope the event can revive Indonesia’s tourism sector through industry collaboration, increased travel activity and renewed optimism for the travel, hospitality and health tourism industries,” Panca said.Carrying the theme “Time for Affordable Holidays and Healthy Living,” the exhibition is expected to encourage consumers to plan trips while gaining education on healthy lifestyles.The event will run alongside the 7th Indonesia Wellness & Health Tourism Expo at Jakarta International Convention Centre from May 29-31. Organizers expect attendance to surpass 30,000 visitors, with transactions exceeding Rp60 billion.
