Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Indonesian Ministry of Culture and ANTARA News Agency explored opportunities for collaboration to support the preservation and advancement of Indonesia's culture during a meeting here on Wednesday.”I believe we can synergize the activities and programs at the Ministry of Culture with ANTARA, particularly those related to the press, history, photography, and other aspects of cultural advancement,” Culture Minister Fadli Zon stated.He said that ANTARA is a prominent institution in the history of the Indonesian press, as well as a witness to the nation's journey.Therefore, he expressed hope that ANTARA would organize exhibitions featuring photographs and documents related to the proclamation of Indonesian independence during the commemoration of the country's Independence Day, which is celebrated every August 17.”We also hope to collaborate on (historical) photos and documents for the photography museum we are currently developing,” Fadli Zon said.President Director of ANTARA News Agency Benny Siga Butarbutar stated during the meeting that the news agency was encouraged to take a more active role in disseminating government policies regarding cultural preservation and advancement.”Culture is broad, and ANTARA is expected to take a more active role in amplifying cultural policies… Culture is not solely about art. It encompasses many aspects. There are 10 indicators of culture, ranging from history, tradition, and society, to the arts themselves,” he said.Benny highlighted that ANTARA has a gallery dedicated to showcasing historical documentation and stands ready to assist the Ministry of Culture in establishing the planned photography museum.”Our greatest contribution lies in our ability to help the Ministry of Culture present historical photographs, allowing the public to fully grasp the comprehensive meaning of Indonesia's history,” Benny stated.
