More cathlab, CT scan units to speed up Aceh medical care: Minister

Banda Aceh (ANTARA) – Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin committed to accelerating stroke and heart disease management in all districts and cities by providing 514 CT scanners and cathlabs to regional hospitals.”The distribution of these modern devices is part of our commitment to accelerating treatment and services to minimize disability and death due to delayed treatment,” he remarked on Sunday.The statement was delivered via virtual meeting with Aceh Regional Secretary M. Nasir and the Acting Director of the Dr. Zainoel Abidin Regional General Hospital (RSUDZA), Dr. Arifatul Khorida, in Banda Aceh.Sadikin informed that his party would distribute 514 CT scanners and 514 cathlabs to all regional hospitals outside Java to accelerate healthcare services in Indonesia.These devices is part of accelerating treatment and minimizing referrals following their availability in their respective regions, he added.”This program could save the lives of all people in the regions,” he emphasized.Sadikin believes that the availability of the necessary equipment will enable rapid healthcare services in his region without long delays.He urged Aceh Regional Secretary, Nasir, to prepare neurologists and a building to accommodate the sophisticated equipment.”We are ready to provide scholarships to specialist doctors to improve their skills, preferably the best local talents, for them to serve their region,” Sadikin noted.He hopes for RSUDZA to be able to handle all medical cases locally without referring to hospitals outside Aceh.”All healthcare services can be handled at RSUDZA. Our part is ready to provide support with adequate equipment and improve human resource capabilities,” he ensured.All medical staff at RSUDZA are also expected to increase their capacity and provide the best possible service to all Aceh residents.
