Palu, Central Sulawesi (ANTARA) – Indonesia's National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) on Saturday (July 25) rescued 11 foreign tourists and one crew member after their speedboat went missing in the Gulf of Tomini, Central Sulawesi, on Friday (24/7).”According to the chief of the Gorontalo SAR Office, all the victims found were alive. However, the boat captain, Ferdiansyah, remains missing,” Palu SAR Office's operations chief, Rusmadi, stated on Saturday.The rescued victims were evacuated to a resort in Tojo Una-Una District, he said, adding that authorities are coordinating with the resort on the victims' onward evacuation to Wakai or Ampana, both in the same district.Rusmadi said Basarnas Office in Palu deployed Bhisma SAR boat, which carried 13 rescue personnel and supporting equipment for the search operation. The boat took 10 hours to arrive at the search area.The speedboat went missing in the Gulf of Tomini on Friday en route from Sanctum Una-Una Dive Resort in Una-Una Island to the Port of Marisa in Gorontalo Province.The speedboat departed at 7:30 a.m. local time and was expected to arrive at 11 a.m. However, it had not reached its destination by 3 p.m., prompting the tour guide to report the vessel missing to the Gorontalo SAR Office.There were 11 foreign tourists, along with the boat captain and a crew, on board.The passengers were Milan Kasik, aged 55; Rani Permentier, aged 30; Mathijs Sercu, aged 29; Jelka Van Driesum, aged 16; Hinke Van Deer, aged 59; Roeland Van Driesum, aged 61; Age Van Driesum, aged 18; Matthias Prange, aged 50; Celine Josette Menguy, aged 52; Hector Fabio Prange, aged 20; and Ronny Josue Prange, aged 13. The authority did not disclose their nationalities.Meanwhile, the two Indonesian crews were Arif, aged 27, and Ferdiansyah, aged 29.
