Jakarta (ANTARA) – Indonesian creative professionals generated about US$1 million in potential transactions of art toys and toy production services during the Urban Break & Toy Con Seoul 2026 in South Korea, according to the Trade Ministry.Director General of National Export Development Fajarini Puntodewi said the figure marks a sharp rise from the US$500,000 recorded at last year’s edition of the event, reflecting strong demand for Indonesian creative products in South Korea.“The spike in potential transactions proves that creative products and services by Indonesians are gaining recognition and becoming more competitive in the global market,” she stated in a statement cited in Jakarta on Monday.Indonesia’s participation in the exhibition was made possible through synergy between the Directorate General of National Export Development, the Indonesia Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) in Busan, and Indonesian art group Artistry Rights Kollektive. The three stakeholders facilitated 21 creators to showcase their works after a screening process. They included IKY, Rhoald, Abraham Derri, Mirfak, Arief Witjaksana, TOYKKYO, Henky, Beastnolyze, Bea, Skudeye, Royes, ULUM, Arya Mularama, Button Eyes, Edmoon, Kathox, Rozi Permana, Fivust, Mang Moel, Authentic Remixes, and Ghawean Dhewe.During the exhibition, the creators engaged with at least 400 potential buyers, presenting art toys, designer toys, and other collectible toys protected by intellectual property rights.Head of ITPC Busan Husodo Kuncoro Yakti stressed the importance of targeted and sustained promotional efforts for Indonesian products. He said Indonesian creators could leverage participation in international events to better understand demand and market characteristics abroad.“This exhibition served as a bridge for Indonesian artists to learn preferences in the South Korean market,” he noted.Yakti expressed hope that Indonesia’s presence in Seoul would boost service exports, support the development and commercialization of local intellectual property, and create long-term cooperation opportunities for the creative industry.
