Indonesia bolsters hospitality standards ahead of Mandalika MotoGP

Central Lombok, NTB (ANTARA) – Indonesia’s state-owned tourism area developer, InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), has conducted a hospitality training program for residents of tourism villages in Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).The program aims to bolster local hospitality standards ahead of the 2026 Indonesian MotoGP at the Mandalika Circuit, which is scheduled to be held from October 9 to 11.”This program reflects our commitment to enhancing the quality of our local tourism workforce,” General Manager of The Mandalika Pari Wijaya said during the training's opening ceremony here on Sunday (August 9).He noted that the initiative aims to prepare the local community to be excellent hosts, capable of delivering professional and memorable services to tourists attending the international racing event.The training, according to Wijaya, covers core aspects of hospitality, effective communication, tourism awareness, and wholehearted service. The program focuses not only on upgrading individual skills, but also on fostering a broader service culture that creates lasting experiences for visitors.”Through high-quality services, we expect the community to boost the destination's competitiveness while creating added value for the local tourism sector,” he stated.Wijaya also underscored the importance of workforce development in ensuring that every interaction leaves a positive impression, encouraging tourists to return and driving sustainable destination development.”Quality services will not only strengthen the destination's global competitiveness but also generate tangible economic benefits for the local community,” he emphasized.The first batch of the 2026 InJourney Hospitality House training program was attended by 53 participants from the Bilebante Green Tourism Village.Participants came from diverse backgrounds, including tour guides, homestay owners, destination managers, small business owners, tailors, spa therapists, students, and housewives.”The diverse backgrounds of the participants reflect our efforts to build service quality across the entire village tourism ecosystem,” Wijaya concluded.
