Jakarta (ANTARA) – Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka has called on community organizations, particularly Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), to play an active role in supporting the implementation of the government’s national development programs.He specifically sought support from NU’s youth wing, GP Ansor, for several flagship initiatives, including the Free Nutritious Meals program, the Free Health Screening program, the People’s School tuition-free education program, and the Garuda School program, which aims to prepare more Indonesians for admission to leading global universities.“The government needs community-based partners willing to directly engage with the people. We need progress-oriented young generations, and in this regard, GP Ansor has demonstrated its loyalty to both Islamic and national values,” Gibran said in a statement quoted in Semarang on Sunday.Speaking at the inauguration of the 2025–2029 executive board of Central Java GP Ansor in Semarang City, the vice president emphasized that collaboration between the government and community organizations is essential to advancing inclusive development.He underscored that such partnerships are crucial not only to ensure the effective implementation of government programs but also to guarantee the accurate distribution of public aid.Gibran also conveyed President Prabowo Subianto’s greetings and appreciation to GP Ansor for its contribution to the Islamic community and the nation.“I bring warm greetings from President Prabowo, who has just returned from his official trip to South Korea. He asked me to thank you for your unwavering commitment to unity and for upholding Islamic and national values,” he told GP Ansor members.The vice president reiterated that the government remains open to strengthening cooperation with youth and religious organizations to promote people-centered development and equitable growth.He also encouraged NU youth to complement their religious knowledge with modern and practical skills to help drive Indonesia’s advancement, particularly in the field of digital technology.“We aim to develop Islamic school students with expertise in blockchain, artificial intelligence, robotics, and biotechnology,” Gibran emphasized.
