Jakarta (ANTARA) – The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) seized 89.16 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine and seven firearms in a major raid on a drug hub in Kampung Bahari, North Jakarta.BNN Chief Commissioner General Suyudi Ario Seto praised the joint operation on Saturday, highlighting the strong coordination between BNN and Polri in tackling narcotics networks in high-risk areas.“I am very proud. This proves our extraordinary teamwork. Through optimal efforts, we secured remarkable evidence,” Seto said.The operation, conducted on Friday, resulted in the arrest of nine suspects identified by initials Sa, Ab, Yu, He, Fa, Yo, Su, SH, and RN.Seto led a team of 700 personnel, including BNN officers, Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Mobile Brigade (Brimob), and North Jakarta Police units.Authorities confiscated 89.16 kilograms of methamphetamine, 91.53 grams of marijuana, 159 ecstasy pills, Rp1.47 billion (about US$88,100) in cash, and Rp5.5 million in counterfeit money.Other seized items included 21 bladed weapons, a bow with eight arrows, two air rifles, six airsoft guns, five gold bars (100 grams each), six white-gold jewelry pieces, one yellow-gold bracelet, one gold ring, three motorcycles, and nine mobile phones.“The evidence was recovered from boarding houses on Samudera 4 Street and Bak Air 2 Street,” Seto added.The raid followed a prior operation in Kampung Bahari on November 5.Seto stressed that the fight against narcotics requires full collaboration between law enforcement and the community.He said the BNN and Polri will continue investigations to dismantle major drug networks and bring top-level traffickers to justice.
