Jakarta (ANTARA) – President Prabowo Subianto held several closed-door meetings at his residence in Bogor, West Java, on Sunday to discuss education, Middle East developments, and preparations for Eid al-Fitr.Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said the president received updates on strategic domestic and international issues during five meetings with Cabinet ministers.”The president requested updates on domestic and international issues with strategic importance,” Teddy said.The first meeting discussed plans to develop 10 new STEM and medical campuses.The second meeting focused on the development of existing state universities, including efforts to strengthen their global standing through partnerships with international universities.In the third meeting, Prabowo sought updates on the situation in the Middle East and its potential impact on Indonesia.Teddy said the fourth meeting addressed Palestinian students studying at the Indonesian Defense University (Unhan) under scholarship programs.”Since 2022, President Prabowo, then defense minister, has invited 20 to 40 Palestinian students each year to study in Indonesia. The number has expanded to almost 200 now,” he said.The final meeting reviewed the government's preparedness for Eid al-Fitr 2026, particularly security and homecoming transportation arrangements during the holiday period.Officials attending the meetings included Higher Education, Science, and Technology Minister Brian Yuliarto and Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, along with Deputy Defense Minister Donny Ermawan Taufanto.Other participants included State Intelligence Agency (BIN) head M. Herindra, Defense University Rector Anton Nugroho, and Pindad President Director Sigit P. Santosa.
