Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Indonesian Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology is opening up opportunities for 30 high schools to join the Garuda Top High School Transformation program ecosystem this year.Higher Education, Science, and Technology Minister Brian Yuliarto said in Jakarta on Thursday that the program is a strategic initiative in building an educational ecosystem that integrates secondary education with higher education.“It is designed to encourage the realization of quality education that can produce graduates with global competitiveness that makes them able to pursue an education in top universities both abroad and within the country,” he explained.Yuliarto explained that, under the program, high schools are selected based on their track records in nurturing their students’ academic achievements.The program aims to create excellent generations that can contribute to Indonesia’s sustainable development.The ministry’s Director General of Science and Technology, Ahmad Najib Burhani, underscored that collaboration with universities is key for the program to succeed.He stated that in 2025, six Indonesian universities will carry out an enrichment program, namely Jakarta State University, the University of Indonesia, Undiknas University, Padjadjaran University, Bandung Institute of Technology, and IPB University.He explained that the enrichment program covers school management enhancement, teacher capacity building, school counselor development, and a study abroad prep program.Burhani noted that by 2025, 12 schools have joined the program. The target for 2026 is to add approximately 30 new schools as part of a broader expansion plan to reach 80 schools by 2029.Registration for high schools interested in joining the Garuda Top High School Transformation ecosystem is open from March 26 to April 10, 2026, followed by a selection process, with results scheduled for announcement on April 20, 2026.The entire selection process is conducted transparently, consisting of administrative and substantive evaluations.
