Prabowo says Indonesia in better condition amid Middle East crisis

Jakarta (ANTARA) – President Prabowo Subianto has assessed that Indonesia is in a better situation compared to other nations amid the crisis in the Middle East, which has driven up global energy prices.“What we are experiencing now, the crisis in the Middle East that has pushed energy prices higher, is something we should recognize and be grateful for, as our nation’s condition is far better than that of other countries,” he said during a cabinet meeting here on Wednesday.Prabowo said that based on data and reports he received from his ministers, domestic conditions remain relatively secure, although challenges and difficulties persist. The Head of State noted that the Middle East crisis has led to a surge in energy prices, but Indonesia is still considered capable of managing and mitigating its impacts.“After reviewing the figures and receiving reports from my ministers, it turns out our condition is quite secure. There are challenges and difficulties, but we are able to face and overcome them,” he said.In his remarks, Prabowo also highlighted the importance of managing natural resources as a fundamental factor in a nation’s life.He said this principle had been emphasized by the country’s founding fathers through the 1945 Constitution, which mandates that land, water, and natural resources be controlled by the state for the benefit of the people.“There are countries rich in oil and gas but lacking water. What I want to convey is that these matters are very important and fundamental, and they have been underscored by our founding fathers,” he said.President Prabowo gathered members of the Red and White Cabinet, including ministers, deputy ministers, and echelon I officials, at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta to deliver the briefing directly.“President Prabowo finds it important to directly convey this to all echelon I officials, as we are one unit,” Head of the Government Communication Office, Angga Raka Prabowo, said.
