Jakarta (ANTARA) – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto announced the establishment of a task force dedicated to economic growth through the advancement of government policies, with Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto appointed as its head.The task force was established by Presidential Decision No. 4 of 2026, with the new agency's official name set as “Government Program Acceleration for Supporting Advancement of Economic Growth Task Force,” as observed from the State Secretariat repository, Friday.The new body, directly responsible to the president, is tasked with coordinating the acceleration of government policies, including economic packages and stimulus, government policies, and ministry- or agency-level main programs to boost economic growth.The task force is also responsible for determining integrated and collaborative strategic measures to boost the economy through government programs, monitoring and evaluating budget implementation, and addressing implementation issues promptly.Top Minister Hartarto will be assisted by State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi as the second head of the task force.Meanwhile, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, Investment Minister Rosan Roeslani, and National Development Planning Minister Rachmat Pambudy are appointed as deputy heads for the new task force.The president determined that membership of the task force will comprise 27 ministers and agency heads, including home affairs, energy and mineral resources, agriculture, and social ministers, as well as the SOE agency head, the police chief, and the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) head.The task force is required to convene a coordinating meeting at least once every two months, and its head is required to provide regular updates to the president. The new agency is also mandated to collaborate with related agencies, local governments, and other stakeholders while carrying out its duty.The Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs will serve as the secretariat for the task force, according to the presidential decision.
