Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) has launched the Kadin AI Academy as a strategic step to strengthen the quality of Indonesian human capital and bridge the skill gap in the era of artificial intelligence (AI).Kadin Indonesia Chairman Anindya Bakrie said in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday that the initiative is expected to drive inclusive AI adoption across the business community, workforce, and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across the country.According to him, AI adoption among domestic businesses is becoming increasingly tangible and is starting to reshape expectations for the future of business in Indonesia. The launch of the Kadin AI Academy took place during a seminar titled “AI and the Future of Human Capital,” held at the Kadin Headquarters in Jakarta on Wednesday.Bakrie noted that the Q1 2026 Kadin Indonesia Business Pulse survey showed a significant increase in positive perceptions among business players toward technological developments, particularly AI. He said that in the fourth quarter of 2025, very few business owners surveyed viewed technological advancement as a source of positive business growth.“However, just three months later in Q1 2026, that figure jumped to 22 percent. Now, 22 percent of business owners see technological developments, especially AI, as a source of optimism for the business community,” he said. The increase, according to Bakrie, is a strong indication that AI adoption is becoming more concrete among Indonesian businesses. He emphasized that AI has now reached every segment of the business ecosystem, ranging from large industries, students, and job seekers to MSMEs and entrepreneurs currently restructuring their workflows.During the event, Bakrie also outlined three key principles that should guide AI adoption in Indonesia.First, AI implementation must be inclusive and should not widen the gap between advanced players and those left behind.Second, AI should be positioned as a productive technology rather than a substitutive one.Third, AI must function as an accelerator for national economic growth.“AI must help Indonesians work smarter, faster, and with greater impact,” he stressed. He further stated that AI adoption is essential to support the administration of President Prabowo Subianto in achieving its target of 8 percent economic growth.
