Religious Ministry developing an integrated seminarium school in NTT

Kupang, NTT (ANTARA) – The Ministry of Religious Affairs is developing the Seminarium Integrated School in Nagekeo District, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), to expand access to integrated Catholic education and oriented towards strengthening the quality of Human Resources (HR).”The construction of this school is a concrete manifestation of the program of 'Kemenag Berdampak',” said the Director General of Catholic Community Guidance at the ministry, Suparman, in his statement, here on Thursday.He said that education should be a way to build the quality of human resources, strengthen character, and prepare future generations who are able to contribute to society, the Church, and the nation, he said.This school is designed to include Taman Seminari (kindergarten), Elementary School, Middle School, High School, and Catholic State University within a 10-hectare educational complex provided by the Nagekeo District Government to the Ministry of Religious Affairs through the Directorate General of Catholic Community Guidance.Suparman emphasized that the construction of the integrated school was not merely the construction of physical facilities, but a long-term investment in human resource development.He said education is an important instrument for producing a young generation that is intellectually capable, morally and spiritually strong, and highly principled.He also expressed appreciation to the Nagekeo District Government, traditional leaders, religious leaders, and local communities for supporting the development plan, including through land grants for the integrated education area in Flores.Meanwhile, Director of Catholic Education at the Directorate General of Catholic Community Guidance, Albertus Triyatmojo, said the school is expected to become a model for modern Catholic education that integrates faith, science, character, and culture.He added that the school’s development will be strengthened through the implementation of the Love Curriculum, which promotes the values of compassion, tolerance, social awareness, environmental responsibility, and respect for human dignity.According to him, the initiative aligns with the Eight Priority Programs of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, particularly in strengthening religious moderation, improving educational quality, and building a young generation that is humanistic, inclusive, and competitive.Meanwhile, Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs in East Nusa Tenggara, Fransiskus Kariyanto, expressed hope that the construction of the Seminarium Integrated School would become a major milestone for the advancement of Catholic education in the province.He believes the school will not only strengthen religious education services, but also provide broader access to quality education for the people of Flores, especially the younger generation.
