Makkah Chamber issues report on service upgrades in Mecca  

Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Makkah Chamber (officially the Makkah Chamber of Commerce and Industry) has issued a report highlighting ongoing development projects and service modernization efforts in Mecca aimed at improving the experience of Hajj and Umrah pilgrims as part of the Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 program.The report, titled “Pulse of Business in the Holy Capital” and prepared by the Makkah Center for Economic Information and Studies, outlines infrastructure upgrades, digital transformation initiatives and transport developments designed to accommodate growing numbers of pilgrims and visitors throughout the year, according to a statement received in Jakarta, Thursday.According to the report, authorities are focusing on modernizing Hajj and Umrah systems, expanding logistics and transportation networks, strengthening smart infrastructure and promoting environmental sustainability in the Holy City.The report said the projects seek to improve service quality, increase operational efficiency and enhance the overall experience of pilgrims arriving from around the world. It added that Mecca is pursuing a development model that balances modernization with the preservation of the city’s Islamic and historical identity.Chairperson of the Makkah Chamber Abdullah Saleh Kamel said the report forms part of broader efforts to provide data and analysis supporting future development initiatives and service improvements in the Holy Capital.Secretary-General of the chamber Thamer bin Ahmed Baazeem said the publication is the first in a planned series of specialized reports intended to support decision-making and strengthen coordination among development and service entities in Mecca.The report also highlighted indicators related to infrastructure development, adoption of technology solutions and improvements in transport and logistics services to support the city’s readiness to receive millions of visitors annually.
