Jakarta (ANTARA) – The state visit of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto to France generated four commercial deals worth US$3.5 billion (Rp61.25 trillion), strengthening bilateral relationship between two countries.According to a statement by the Government Communications Agency (Bakom) on Saturday (May 30), Indonesian Minister of Investment and Downstream Development Rosan Roeslani informed the agreements were reached at the launch of France-Indonesia High-Level Business Council on Thursday (May 28).”This forum does not only accommodate dialogue between business actors, but also serves as a driving force to encourage investment, trade, and strategic cooperation with tangible benefits for both countries,” Roeslani remarked.The launch of the high-level business council was witnessed by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and French President Emmanuel Macron.The forum brought together 30 company leaders and key industry players from Indonesia and France with a total market capitalisation of US$1.3 trillion.The business council is co-chaired by Antoine de Saint-Affrique as Chair of the France-Indonesia Business Council MEDEF International and Chief Executive Officer of Danone and Anindya Bakrie as Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin).Roeslani conveyed French business community is increasingly confident in Indonesia, consistent with its status as a strategic partner offering long-term growth opportunities.”The French business community's trust in Indonesia continues to grow. The agreements showed that Indonesia is considered as a strategic partner with long-term growth prospects and an increasingly competitive investment climate,” he continued.Furthermore, the Indonesia-France Business Council targets a threefold increase in bilateral trade in 2035 by strengthening cooperation between Kadin and the Mouvement des Entreprises de France International.Prabowo returned to Indonesia on Saturday (May 30) after completing a working visit to France.The head of state began his Paris visit with a state reception at Les Invalides, followed by a bilateral meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace, where the two also attended a state dinner.He also used the visit, his fourth since assuming the presidency in 2024, to perform Eid al-Adha prayers alongside Indonesians at the Paris embassy on May 27.
