Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Industry Ministry introduced Indonesia’s three-pronged national industrial transformation agenda at the fourth meeting of the BRICS Partnership on New Industrial Revolution (PartNIR) Advisory Group in New Delhi, India.Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita emphasized Indonesia’s view of PartNIR as “an important platform for aligning national industrial transformation strategies” with those of fellow BRICS nations—Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia.“By joining forces and exchanging best practices, we can expect to tackle common challenges and ensure equitable benefits from technological advancements for all participating countries,” he said in a statement cited in Jakarta on Friday.Kartasasmita made the remarks after Indonesia attended the New Delhi meeting on Aug. 3, which sought to adopt a joint declaration laying the foundation for deeper collaboration among BRICS members on industrial innovation, green manufacturing, competency development, and supply chain strengthening.The Indonesian delegation told the forum that the government is implementing three initiatives to advance national industrial development, each focusing on Industry 4.0, the transition to green industry, and a data-driven supply chain system.Under the first initiative, Indonesia aims to enhance the competitiveness of small and medium enterprises while guiding startups to grow more adaptive to digital technology development and global market trends.Indonesia also reaffirmed its commitment to promoting environmentally friendly industrial practices through decarbonization, the circular economy, the adoption of new and renewable energy, and industrial digitalization.Third, the country highlighted the National Industrial Information System (SIINas) as a platform to facilitate international trade and strengthen the resilience of national industries against global challenges.Indonesia also used the meeting to underscore opportunities to develop joint capacity-building programs supported by the BRICS Centre for Industrial Competencies.Furthermore, the country expressed its eagerness to translate ongoing collaboration into concrete innovation projects and technology partnerships through the BRICS PartNIR Innovation Center for the benefit of all member states.
