IDX to maintain mommunication with MSCI after August review

Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) will maintain active communication with MSCI Inc. following the global index provider’s August 2026 index review.“We will certainly continue our communication with MSCI,” IDX President Director Jeffrey Hendrik told reporters in Jakarta on Thursday. He added that the IDX will also continue engaging with global market participants to maintain and strengthen investor confidence in Indonesia’s capital market.Hendrik explained that the announcement was part of MSCI’s routine evaluation of global equities, including stocks listed in Indonesia.“This rebalancing is conducted periodically by MSCI. Similar to previous rebalancing processes, MSCI uses publicly available information disclosed by the IDX, such as the HSC (High Shareholders Concentration) framework and data on shareholders with ownership stakes of more than 1 percent,” he said.In its latest announcement released in London on Wednesday (August 12), MSCI removed two Indonesian stocks from its flagship MSCI Global Standard Index, with one of them being downgraded to the MSCI Global Small Cap Index. While adding the downgraded stock to the small-cap index, MSCI simultaneously removed nine other Indonesian equities from the list. All changes from the August review will be implemented at market close on August 31, 2026, and take effect on September 1, 2026.MSCI is scheduled to announce its next index review on November 11, 2026, with the changes taking effect on December 1, 2026.
