Jakarta (ANTARA) – Sovereign wealth fund Danantara has stressed the important role of state-owned enterprises (SOEs) in supporting the national trade ecosystem.Danantara Senior Vice President for Strategic Technology Initiatives Ariya Sanjaya said here on Thursday that this support is needed to build an integrated and inclusive national trade ecosystem, including through the involvement of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). “So there are many elements in the national trade ecosystem. There are sellers, buyers, and banking as financing support,” Sanjaya said.Sanjaya added that the ecosystem also includes logistics, warehousing, and insurance, saying that building all of these elements together would help build the national trade ecosystem.He said MSME involvement could be encouraged by SOEs through procurement.An inclusive trade ecosystem is expected to support more equitable economic growth, noting that MSMEs are one of the pillars of Indonesia's economy, he explained.”We are discussing how SOE procurement budgets can be allocated for MSMEs. This is a shared challenge, how our industry can grow,” he said.Sanjaya cited state-owned telecommunications company PT Telkom Indonesia as an example, which continues to push the transformation of its “PaDi UMKM” digital marketplace as a procurement platform solution for SOEs.PaDi UMKM is a digital platform that connects MSMEs with SOEs to optimize, accelerate, and improve the efficiency of SOE purchases from MSMEs, while also expanding and easing MSME access to financing, with Telkom Indonesia acting as the aggregator.The transformation of PaDi UMKM is important for SOEs because the platform prioritizes domestically made products with a relatively high domestic content level (TKDN).”PaDi UMKM is part of the SOE ecosystem. In line with Danantara's mandate, we want to optimize SOE assets, particularly the potential within PaDi,” Sanjaya said.
