Prabowo highlights Indonesia’s AAA-rated Panda Bonds in China

They assess that Indonesia’s economic fundamentals are solid, our government policies are effective, our economy is resilient to external shocks, and inflation is under control,Jakarta (ANTARA) – President Prabowo Subianto highlighted Indonesia’s Panda Bonds, which received an AAA/Stable rating from China Lianhe Rating, the highest rating assigned to a debt issuance. He made the statement in his speech on the 2027 Draft State Budget and Financial Note at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Friday.“China Lianhe Rating has given an AAA/Stable rating, which is the highest level for the issuance of Panda Bonds by the Republic of Indonesia,” Prabowo said.He said the rating reflected the agency’s assessment that Indonesia’s economic fundamentals remained solid, government policies were effective, the economy was resilient to external shocks, and inflation was under control.“They assess that Indonesia’s economic fundamentals are solid, our government policies are effective, our economy is resilient to external shocks, and inflation is under control,” he explained.Prabowo said the assessment was a reminder that Indonesia’s international credibility was built through consistency, hard work, and a commitment to implementing policies.“We accept these assessments as a reminder that credibility is built through consistency, hard work, and commitment. The world does not only assess what we announce. The world assesses what we actually implement,” he said.Indonesia’s Finance Ministry officially issued 7 billion yuan (US$1.033 billion) in Panda Bonds at the end of July, marking the country’s first issuance of yuan-denominated bonds in China’s domestic market. The bonds were issued in two tranches: RICNY0729, with a three-year maturity, and RICNY0731, with a five-year maturity.
