Jakarta (ANTARA) – Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism is strengthening human resource (HR) governance to build an effective and adaptive organization focused on achieving quality and sustainable tourism. The ministry’s head of HR and Operations Bureau, Antonio Wasono Imam Prakoso, underscored the importance of cross-unit collaboration in responding to national policy dynamics related to civil servant management.”We must reflect on what we have done throughout 2025 — from employee planning and training to career development. Equally important is ensuring clear career paths for every civil servant,” Prakoso said in a statement on Saturday.Speaking at a coordination meeting on November 6, he said the distribution of civil servants across work units must be evaluated regularly to align with workload and position analyses. He also highlighted the need to enhance employee capacity, including encouraging higher education opportunities from diploma to doctoral levels.Currently, the ministry employs 2,687 civil servants.”Personnel managers must ensure that positions are available for employees seeking promotion. We do not want to see competency tests held without available positions,” Prakoso said.He added that the ministry supports the National Internship Program, part of the national economic package, by preparing 287 internship positions across all work units, including the Tourism Polytechnic and the Tourism Authority Agency.”We will provide official updates through the Tourism Ministry’s official communication channels,” Prakoso said.
