RI affirms commitment to expanding outbound investment in South Africa

Johannesburg, South Africa (ANTARA) – Indonesian Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka highlighted Indonesia’s commitment to expanding outbound investment in South Africa at the Indonesia-Africa CEO Forum in Johannesburg, South Africa, on Friday.He noted that South Africa is a strategic partner and a gateway for Indonesia to penetrate the African market. At the same time, Indonesia also offers industrial capacity, human resources, manufacturing networks, technology, and access to the ASEAN market.”I want to emphasize our commitment to improving investment and economic cooperation with Africa. So, if there are any issues, please inform us,” he remarked.In his speech, the Vice President underlined that the cooperation forum is a huge step to strengthen the relationship and expand the collaboration between Indonesia and South Africa.”With collaboration, the emerging economies can shape the future. Global growth must not only be strong but also fair and inclusive,” he emphasized.On that occasion, he also conveyed greetings from Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto.”Warm greetings from President Prabowo to all of you, and also deep appreciation to the Government of South Africa for the warm hospitality and excellent arrangement,” he said.The Indonesia-Africa CEO Forum was initiated by the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Indonesia).At the forum, the Vice President was accompanied by several Red and White Cabinet members, including Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Arrmanatha Nasir.Vice President Gibran arrived in Johannesburg on Friday at around 03:15 p.m. local time. In his visit to South Africa, he is set to attend the G20 Summit, where he will deliver a speech while also affirming Indonesia’s stance on various priority global issues.
