Kediri, East Java (ANTARA) – East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa stated that the cheap food market operation ahead of the 2026 Eid al-Adha is aimed at controlling prices and maintaining the affordability of food prices.”Ahead of Eid al-Adha, we want the public to be calm because the food staples are available, distribution is smooth, and prices remain controlled. Premium rice was sold at Rp14,000 per kilogram (kg) and medium rice distributed under the Food Supply and Price Stabilization (SPHP) at Rp11,000 per kg.MinyaKita cooking oil was sold at Rp13,000 per liter, while granulated sugar was priced at Rp14,000 per kg. We also place this cheap market at points not close to traditional markets so as not to disrupt the existing market ecosystem,” she said.
