Jakarta (ANTARA) – Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi stated that on Wednesday, or three days before Eid al-Fitr, the homecoming flow was running well.”Up to today, the homecoming activities, thank God, have been going well. Activities by land, sea, air, and rail are all proceeding smoothly,” he said here on Wednesday.He also appreciated the National Police's initiative to hold a free homecoming program as it was considered very helpful for the public.”Thus people no longer need to use vehicles to travel home. It is a good program, and hopefully, it will reduce incidents during journeys home,” he said.According to him, the use of buses for homecoming has encouraged people to plan their trips properly.”They are expected to arrive in their hometowns and later return to their respective homes safely, comfortably, and securely,” he said.He also urged travelers to plan their journeys well and always follow directions and instructions from officers on duty in the field.Meanwhile, Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin conveyed a message from President Prabowo Subianto, who wants people to travel home safely and stay healthy during the homecoming period.”Thank you, Mr. Police Chief, for facilitating people so they travel home and remain healthy. During the journey, I witnessed their health was checked, and they were healthy,” he said.He noted that the biggest health issue is accidents, which can leave travelers heading home or returning in an unhealthy condition.”However, thank God, thanks to the Transportation Minister for improving infrastructure, roads, buses, sea transport, and procedures, the number of accidents in the past three years has dropped drastically,” he pointed out.
