Penajam Paser Utara (ANTARA) – The Nusantara Capital City (IKN) Authority is balancing physical development and sustainability within the IKN area, which is being built across parts of North Penajam Paser and Kutai Kartanegara Districts, East Kalimantan Province.”Supporting facilities are being developed to strengthen the IKN area's ecosystem,” said Basuki Hadimuljono, Head of the IKN Authority, when asked about the IKN development scheme in Sepaku, North Penajam Paser, on Tuesday.He explained that the development of the supporting facilities is aimed at ensuring a balance between physical development and environmental sustainability.One of the supporting facility developments, he explained, is the IKN Authority's planning and improvement of the glamping area, with the goal of optimal utilization.The glamping area is designed to preserve the surrounding natural character while remaining functional and well-organized, aiming to enhance IKN's image through an ecological approach and by promoting high-quality, sustainable living spaces.The glamping area facilities are being prepared to support accommodation needs, as well as being part of the development of green open spaces within the IKN area, and an integrated regional development strategy.The glamping area combines the comfort of modern accommodation with the experience of being in a green open space, supporting mobility and activities in the new capital city.The glamping area, he said, can be used by guests, workers, and stakeholders who need temporary housing with adequate facilities.He said the upgrading of the glamping area seeks to balance human activity needs with environmental sustainability, aligning with the new capital's development, which emphasizes eco-friendly principles and sustainable spatial planning.Hadimuljono said the facilities are being developed under an accommodation support program while reinforcing green open spaces in the new capital, serving not only as lodging but also blending harmoniously with the surrounding natural landscape.
