Jakarta (ANTARA) – Indonesia’s Creative Economy Ministry is exploring collaboration with Meta to expand global market access for local creators, aiming to raise competitiveness and visibility of domestic talent internationally.Deputy Minister Irene Umar said partnerships with major platforms can help Indonesian creative works reach wider global audiences, according to a statement on Wednesday.She said while expanding globally, local creators must remain relevant and accessible to domestic audiences, maintaining strong engagement at home.Irene said the government acts not only as regulator but also as a bridge, aligning stakeholders to ensure the creative ecosystem develops in a coordinated and sustainable way.At talks with Meta, both sides discussed potential cooperation, including cross-border market data sharing, AI-based and gamified training, and stronger education on community guidelines for safe digital activity.Meta’s Indonesia and Philippines Public Policy Head Berni Moestafa said Indonesia is a high-growth digital market driven by strong user creativity.This dynamic has led Meta to continue rolling out features and initiatives to support creators and businesses in the country.“Digital adoption in Indonesia is strong, and users are highly creative in using technology not only to communicate but also to grow businesses,” Berni said.Meta also reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening creator capacity through best practices in digital platform use, from content strategy to effective public communication.APAC partner manager Imanuel Lamoa said the approach aims to help creators maximize digital potential beyond sales, building strong foundations from content creation.“With this approach, we aim to help creators grow more effectively and fully leverage digital platforms,” he said.Meta Indonesia is part of Meta Platforms Inc., which operates platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger.In Indonesia, Meta supports digital economy growth through technology development, business empowerment and strategic partnerships.High adoption of Meta platforms in Indonesia highlights strong demand for digital innovation and opens opportunities for creators and businesses to scale.
