Indonesia launches program to prepare future SOE leaders

Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Indonesian government has launched the Presidential Future Leaders Program (PFLP) to prepare future leaders for state-owned enterprises (SOEs), according to Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.”The program was designed directly by the President to prepare future leaders of state-owned enterprises,” Teddy said in a statement.President Prabowo Subianto personally briefed 400 participants of the program's first batch in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, on Sunday. The program is intended to support Prabowo's vision of improving SOE governance through stronger human resource development. The nine-month program consists of three main phases. In the first phase, participants will undergo three months of character-building and discipline training. The second phase includes four months of managerial and decision-making training at Danantara Corporate University. In the final phase, participants will complete two-month internships at ministries, state agencies, or SOEs to gain direct experience in government and corporate governance. The initiative forms part of the government's broader strategy to prepare professional and capable SOE leaders amid evolving global challenges.Earlier, head of the SOE Management Agency (BP BUMN) Dony Oskaria said 400 participants had been selected from more than 700 applicants for the program. He said the program supports the government's SOE transformation agenda, including consolidation, restructuring, divestment, and dissolution of state-run companies.Dony added that SOE reform requires competent personnel capable of strengthening transparency and accountability in state asset management.
