Jakarta (ANTARA) – Deputy Trade Minister Dyah Roro Esti stated that Indonesia has enormous export potential, and the Indonesian Export Potential Dashboard, a trade data platform, is expected to help unlock that potential.“Indonesia has enormous regional export potential, and we see this dashboard as a solution to help realize those opportunities properly,” she said during the launch of the Indonesian Export Potential Dashboard in Jakarta on Monday. She noted that Indonesia recorded a trade surplus of US$41.05 billion throughout 2025, consisting of a non-oil and gas surplus of US$60.75 billion and an oil and gas deficit of US$19.7 billion.Meanwhile, Indonesia’s trade surplus reached US$5.5 billion in the January-March 2026 period. Non-oil and gas exports totaled US$63.6 billion during the first quarter of 2026, while non-oil and gas imports stood at US$52.97 billion.“We hope that regional governments across all provinces will also utilize the dashboard to identify and explore the potential in their respective areas so that our trade performance, particularly exports, can continue to improve,” Esti said. She expressed optimism over the growing number of Indonesian export activities, saying this reflects the competitiveness of domestic products and their ability to meet global standards. One of the ministry’s efforts to expand international markets amid geopolitical uncertainty is through trade agreements, including the ratification of several ongoing Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreements with countries such as Canada and Peru, as well as African nations.“Last night, I led a trade mission to China, and thankfully we signed a memorandum of understanding worth around US$88 million,” she said.“This is an extraordinary achievement. We are showing the world that Indonesian products are competitive, and it turns out there is significant interest in them,” she added. She also expressed hope that local governments would become more enthusiastic and confident in developing the vast untapped potential that still exists across the country. Therefore, Esti said she hopes the dashboard will further increase awareness of export opportunities that may not have been fully developed so far.
