Indonesia secures Jordan’s support for Gaza peace mission deployment

Amman (ANTARA) – Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono stated that the Jordanian government and military are ready to support Indonesia during the deployment of its troops to the Gaza Strip, Palestine, as part of the International Stabilization Force (ISF).The commitment was conveyed by King Abdullah II of Jordan to President Prabowo Subianto during their bilateral meeting at the Basman Palace in Amman on Wednesday.”Jordan is ready to provide their support to Indonesia when we deploy our troops. We also committed to support each other militarily from the technical aspect,” Sugiono informed ANTARA about the meeting's outcome at the Marka airport, Amman.The foreign minister accompanied President Prabowo during his meeting with King Abdullah II.Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya were also present in the bilateral talks.Meanwhile, King Abdullah II was accompanied by Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah Al-Hashimi, Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, and political and military officials.During the meeting, President Prabowo expressed his concern about the terror and intimidation by Israeli Zionists against the Palestinian people in the West Bank.”We are concerned about the incidents in the West Bank. We believe those incidents can hinder efforts to achieve our common goals in Gaza,” the president told the Jordanian king.Prabowo also reiterated Indonesia's commitment to working together with Jordan to address the Palestinian issue and provide security to its people.”We want to strengthen and enhance the cooperation. I believe my team will work with Your Majesty's team to anticipate every possible situation,” he stated before King Abdullah II.Prabowo added that Indonesia seeks to remain fully informed about developments and reaffirmed support for Jordan's ongoing efforts.After completing his agenda in Jordan on February 24–25, President Prabowo proceeded to continue his visit to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, to meet President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
