Jakarta (ANTARA) – Indonesia is set to host the International Association of Women Police (IAWP) conference in Bali on September 20-24 this year.Organizing committee chair Brigadier General Nurul Azizah noted that the forum will gather women police officers, police leaders, and legal practitioners from multiple countries to promote collaboration, professionalism, and cross-border friendships.“More than just a conference, IAWP 2026 serves as momentum to strengthen solidarity and collaboration among women police worldwide,” she said in a statement received in Jakarta on Friday. She added that the upcoming conference will feature a wide range of activities beyond formal sessions, aiming to foster stronger ties among multinational participants.Azizah pointed out that among the highlights is the Parade of Nations, where delegations will showcase their cultural heritage while promoting international solidarity within the policing community. She said that participants will also take part in a mangrove-planting activity as a contribution to coastal ecosystem conservation and as a symbol of shared responsibility for environmental protection. The international conference, she added, will culminate its series of social and cultural activities with a gala dinner presented as a venue for cultural exchange. She underlined the gala dinner as a cordial gathering providing space for participants to introduce their cultures while immersing themselves in Indonesia’s cultural wealth.“This forum is designed to reaffirm women’s strategic role in creating security and building public trust and their ability to become agents of change at the national and global levels,” Azizah remarked. She expressed hope that the IAWP conference will strengthen international cooperation, expand women police networks globally, and echo support for efforts enabling women to emerge as leading actors in the security sector.“It is an honor for Indonesia to welcome delegations from various countries in Bali to learn, exchange experience, and grow together,” she concluded.Indonesia previously hosted the IAWP conference in 2021 in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara.
