Indonesia’s Prabowo arrives in France for state visit

Jakarta (ANTARA) – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto arrived at Orly Airport in Paris on Tuesday morning to begin a state visit aimed at strengthening strategic ties between Indonesia and France.Upon arrival, Prabowo was welcomed by French Minister of Labor and Solidarity Jean-Pierre Farandou and a French guard of honor. Hundreds of Indonesians also welcomed the president at his hotel in Paris.”This marks the beginning of President Prabowo's state visit to France, which had originally been scheduled last year before being rescheduled several times,” Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya wrote on social media on Tuesday.Teddy said Indonesia and France currently maintain extensive strategic cooperation.He added that the visit is expected to strengthen Indonesia's position in Europe, particularly in France.According to Teddy, Indonesia and France play complementary roles in global relations, with Indonesia serving as a gateway between Europe and Asia, while France acts as an important bridge between Europe and Southeast Asia.”Before beginning his official state agenda, President Prabowo is scheduled to perform Eid al-Adha prayers and gather with Indonesian citizens at the Indonesian Embassy residence in Paris,” Teddy said.Earlier, Deputy State Secretary Juri Ardiantoro said Prabowo departed for France on Monday night for the state visit.Juri added that the president would remain in France on Wednesday, with Eid al-Adha observances adjusted to local conditions.
