Indonesia’s “UMKM BISA Ekspor” MSME export program hits US$107 million

Jakarta (ANTARA) – Indonesia’s government-backed “UMKM BISA Ekspor” program for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) recorded transactions worth US$107.34 million in January-April 2026, Deputy Trade Minister Dyah Roro Esti said on Monday.The transactions included purchase orders worth about US$11.72 million and potential deals valued at US$95.62 million, Esti stated in Jakarta.“We hope these trade missions can continue. Over the past year and a half, we have worked to penetrate markets such as Germany, led a trade mission to China, and also to Japan. We will continue identifying countries with further potential,” Esti said.She said the program conducted 278 activities during the period, including 146 pitching sessions and 132 meetings with buyers involving 552 businesses.Indonesia’s trade ministry operates trade attaches and Indonesian Trade Promotion Centers (ITPCs) in 33 countries to help connect domestic businesses with overseas buyers.“We conduct business matching routinely online, even every day,” Esti said, adding Trade Minister Budi Santoso had instructed officials to intensify pitching and buyer-matching efforts.Starting in 2026, the UMKM BISA Ekspor program and Indonesia’s overseas trade representatives will prioritize business matching initiatives, including collaboration with Indonesian embassies and consulates to organize pitching sessions and meetings with buyers.
