InJourney logs 10.2 million air passengers during year-end holidays

Jakarta (ANTARA) – State-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia, operating under the InJourney Airports brand, recorded 10.20 million aircraft passengers across its 37 airports during the 2025/2026 Christmas and New Year holiday period.InJourney Airports President Director Mohammad R. Pahlevi said the figure was relatively similar to the previous year.“From December 15, 2025, to January 4, 2026, InJourney Airports cumulatively served around 10.20 million passengers at its 37 airports. This is relatively comparable to the 2024/2025 holiday period, which recorded approximately 10.24 million passengers,” Pahlevi said in a statement on Monday.He explained that the highest passenger movement during the pre-Christmas departure period occurred on December 24, 2025, with around 543,000 passengers. Another peak was recorded on December 28, 2025, ahead of New Year, with about 531,000 passengers.Meanwhile, the return flow peaked on January 4, 2026, with nearly 560,000 passengers recorded.During the holiday period, aircraft movements reached approximately 76,000 flights, including around 2,000 additional flights to accommodate increased demand.Pahlevi noted that the five busiest airports during the period were Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, serving 3.5 million passengers with around 23,000 flight movements, followed by I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali with 1.4 million passengers and 9,000 flights.Juanda International Airport in Surabaya handled 863,000 passengers across 6,000 flights, while Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport in Makassar recorded 603,000 passengers with 4,000 flights. Kualanamu International Airport in Deli Serdang served 486,000 passengers with 4,000 flight movements.Pahlevi added that InJourney Airports was able to optimize airport operations throughout the peak holiday season.He said cumulative slot time utilization, which reflects the availability of departure and arrival time slots across all airports during the period, reached nearly 90 percent, up from 84 percent in the previous holiday season.To enhance passenger experience during the year-end peak season, InJourney Airports implemented various customer experience initiatives, including thematic Christmas and New Year decorations and on-ground activation activities at passenger terminals.These efforts were supported by the deployment of mobile customer service officers throughout the terminals, as well as the operation of integrated service posts to assist passengers.
