Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Jakarta Provincial Government is strengthening the creative economy ecosystem, including the coffee industry, by providing support for young talent.Other efforts include expanding market access for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and developing “coffee tourism corridors” that introduce Jakarta’s and Indonesia’s unique coffee experiences to the world.”The Jakarta Provincial Government wants to ensure that every coffee bean brings prosperity to farmers, entrepreneurs, and the wider community,” Jakarta Deputy Governor Rano Karno said during the opening of the “Jakarta International Coffee Conference (JICC) 2025” in Central Jakarta on Thursday.Rano called on all parties to strengthen cross-sector collaboration so that Indonesian coffee becomes more widely recognized, valued, and loved, both nationally and globally. One of the ways to achieve this is through the “JICC 2025” event.Rano mentioned that Jakarta is proud to host the “JICC 2025” as it brings together coffee stakeholders from upstream to downstream.According to him, this moment serves as a platform to share ideas, build networks, and strengthen an inclusive, innovative, and globally competitive coffee ecosystem.The organization of “JICC 2025” demonstrates Jakarta’s readiness to host national and international-scale events. “This also reaffirms Jakarta’s role as a collaborative, competitive, and sustainable global city,” he said.As a coffee enthusiast, Rano also shared his views on the philosophy behind a cup of coffee.He explained that every cup of coffee holds a long journey, reflecting the dedication of farmers, the meticulous process, as well as the art and inspiration that emerge from its distinctive aroma and taste.The “JICC 2025” event will run until November 8, 2025, featuring various activities such as a conference with inspirational speakers from both domestic and international backgrounds.There will also be educational spaces and capacity-building opportunities for industry players, creative works and innovations in the coffee world, a prestigious competition for the best baristas, as well as promotional and business networking opportunities for entrepreneurs.In addition, the event will offer music and relaxation experiences that combine coffee, creativity, and community for visitors.
