Minister calls for inclusive health services during holiday period

Jakarta (ANTARA) – Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Rini Widyantini reminded that public health services during the religious holiday season must ensure inclusivity and remain accessible to vulnerable groups.“Public services must take into account the specific needs of vulnerable groups, such as the elderly, persons with disabilities, pregnant women, and children,” she said in a statement released in Jakarta on Monday.She delivered the remarks while inspecting the readiness of health services at Dharmais Cancer Hospital ahead of the Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr holidays in 2026.On the occasion, she expressed appreciation to health workers and public service personnel in essential sectors who continue to work during the Eid holiday period to ensure the public can still access necessary services.“Responsive, fast, and well-coordinated public services are a top priority during the homecoming period. Thank you to all civil servants who continue to work and remain present to deliver quality services to the public during Eid,” she said.She noted that the Eid holiday period is typically marked by very high public mobility. Various essential public service facilities, including health services, must remain prepared to provide optimal services to the community.During her visit to Dharmais Cancer Hospital, Widyantini, accompanied by Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin, reviewed the patient service process from registration to medical treatment.The inspection also focused on the readiness of several key services, including the emergency department, inpatient care, and cancer therapy services.She also examined the readiness of health workers, service facilities and infrastructure, as well as the availability of public service information, including service standards and complaint mechanisms.
