Prabowo reviews energy supplies with National Economic Council

Jakarta (ANTARA) – President Prabowo Subianto received the chairperson and members of the National Economic Council (DEN), along with several relevant ministers, to review fuel and gas supplies amid shifting geopolitical dynamics.Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said in a written statement on Thursday that the meeting focused on global economic developments.The government will continue to ensure that national supplies of fuel and gas remain sufficient to meet domestic demand, he assured.”During the meeting, it was conveyed that national fuel and gas supplies are sufficient. The government will continue to monitor global energy price developments and prepare mitigation measures so that the impact on the state budget remains under control,” Wijaya said.In addition to discussing energy stability, President Prabowo emphasized the importance of strategic steps to strengthen national economic resilience.Wijaya noted that the Head of State has pushed for the acceleration of the energy self-sufficiency program to reduce dependence on global energy supplies.”The president also emphasized the importance of accelerating energy self-sufficiency and strengthening government digitalization, including through pilot projects for digitalizing social assistance distribution, to improve state spending efficiency,” he said.Furthermore, Prabowo asked all government officials to remain vigilant regarding evolving global dynamics. Anticipation and policy readiness are considered vital to ensure national economic stability amid global uncertainty.Previously, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia emphasized that fuel stocks remain available across Indonesia, advising the public not to worry or engage in panic buying.”The national fuel supply is safe, as production and distribution continue to meet public demand according to operational stock standards set by the government,” Lahadalia said.
