Jakarta (ANTARA) – Indonesia is seeking to make its creative economy a key growth engine as the government targets 6 percent economic growth in 2027, Creative Economy Minister Teuku Riefky Harsya said Monday. The effort is supported by the 2026-2045 Creative Economy Master Plan, known as Rindekraf, established under Presidential Regulation No. 37/2026.“Rindekraf provides a clear roadmap for the creative economy to become a new engine of national growth,” Harsya said in a statement. The plan aims to turn creativity, intellectual property, talent and regional potential into productive economic activity, he said.Harsya said the master plan would guide central and local governments in developing the creative economy over the medium and long term.Developing the creative economy in regions can broaden economic benefits and generate added value from local assets, helping create growth beyond major cities, Harsya said. The strategy supports the government’s draft 2027 state budget, which targets 6 percent economic growth while seeking to maintain momentum and improve public welfare. The Creative Economy Ministry is implementing programs to increase the sector’s contribution, including Creative Village Activation, Creative Hub Activation and Creative by Indonesia.Creative Village aims to turn villages into centers of creative economic activity, while Creative Hubs will provide spaces for talent and entrepreneurs to develop.Creative by Indonesia, meanwhile, focuses on accelerating the development of locally owned intellectual property, according to the ministry.“The creative economy has immense potential to support livelihoods, create jobs and add economic value,” Harsya said.He said the ministry would align its programs with national development priorities and ensure they are implemented effectively across the country.
