Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Ministry of Creative Economy is restoring business activities in disaster-affected areas on Sumatra Island through the Creative Economy Care (Ekraf Peduli) initiative.“We want to ensure that recovery is not only physical, but also revives businesses, creativity, and the fighting spirit of communities so they can recover together,” Creative Economy Minister Teuku Riefky Harsya said in a statement on Friday.During the rehabilitation phase, the ministry activated the Red and White Creative Space and provided assistance and facilitation to creative economy players affected by disasters across Sumatra.The ministry also organized digital content creation training, local music performances, community cinema screenings, educational games, and various art activities to support community recovery.At the reconstruction stage, programs focus on strengthening production capacity and increasing added value through training in crafts, batik, embroidery and weaving, packaging design, culinary processing, sewing, and digital entrepreneurship.These programs are aimed at accelerating economic recovery in disaster-affected areas.According to data from the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) as of January 5, 2026, floods and landslides affected 52 districts and cities in three provinces on Sumatra Island, Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.The government has identified creative economy players impacted by the disasters and is assisting them in restoring their businesses.During a coordination meeting of the Task Force for the Acceleration of Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction in Sumatra on January 15, 2026, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno said the government remains committed to rebuilding affected areas and strengthening regional disaster mitigation capacity.He stressed the importance of accurate data collection to support effective rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts.
