Indonesia Finance Minister confident 2027 budget targets can be met

Jakarta (ANTARA) – Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa expressed strong optimism that the targets outlined in the 2027 Draft State Budget (RAPBN) can be achieved, supported by solid macroeconomic performance in the first half of 2026.Speaking at a press conference on the 2027 Draft State Budget and its Financial Note in Jakarta on Friday, Purbaya said policy coordination across the monetary, fiscal, and financial sectors would help maintain economic stability.”What the President (Prabowo Subianto) designed, which was presented to the House of Representatives (DPR), can almost certainly be realized by utilizing our considerable experience thus far,” Purbaya said.Under the proposed 2027 budget plan, state revenue is estimated to reach Rp3,426.0 trillion (approximately US$195.77 billion), while state spending is planned at Rp4,097.2 trillion (US$234.13 billion). The budget deficit is projected at Rp671.2 trillion (US$38.35 billion), or 2.40 percent of gross domestic product (GDP).Central Statistics Agency (BPS) data showed that national economic growth reached 5.61 percent year-on-year in the first quarter of 2026 and 5.29 percent in the second quarter.Purbaya noted that the government expects full-year 2026 economic growth to approach 6 percent, providing a strong foundation for achieving the 6.0-percent growth target set for 2027.”This is due to sound monetary, fiscal, and financial sector policies. Going forward, in the second half of this year, we are ensuring that this will be even better, so that we can grow close to 6 percent by the end of 2026,” he said. The 2027 macroeconomic assumptions also target an exchange rate of Rp17,500 per US dollar, inflation of approximately 2.5 percent, and a 6.9-percent yield on 10-year government securities (SBN).In addition, the Indonesian crude oil price is set at US$75 per barrel, with oil lifting targeted at 610,000 barrels per day and gas lifting at 954,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
