Indonesia logs US$12.6 million potential food trade at Singapore expo

Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Ministry of Trade recorded a total potential transaction value of Indonesian food and beverage products reaching Rp230 billion (US$12.6 million) at the Food and Hotel Asia (FHA) 2026 exhibition in Singapore.According to the ministry's statement on Wednesday, there were 14 export contracts worth US$3.17 million or Rp54.5 billion for honey, organic spices, agricultural products, and other food and beverage products.In addition, dozens of potential transactions worth US$10.3 million or Rp177 billion were recorded for healthy instant noodles, organic snacks, fishery products, dairy products, various spices, and other food and beverage products.”The presence of our food and beverage products provides an opportunity to expand Indonesia's market access to the global hospitality industry. This participation also aims to strengthen relationships between Indonesian businesses and Singaporean buyers,” the ministry's Director General of National Export Development, Fajarini Puntodewi, said.The Indonesian pavilion showcases food and beverage, agricultural, and fishery products from 40 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).In addition, products from 13 medium- and large-scale Indonesian companies were also on display.Meanwhile, Indonesian Trade Attaché in Singapore Billy Anugrah stated that the involvement of Indonesian food and beverage companies in international exhibitions reflects their efforts to promote products in the global market.He added that businesses, including MSMEs, can optimize the role of Indonesian trade representatives to support access to export markets.”Food and beverage products are one of the backbones of Indonesian industry, supporting exports over the past five years. The presence of Indonesian businesses at international exhibitions demonstrates the ongoing promotion in penetrating export markets,” Anugrah remarked.From January to March 2026, Indonesia’s total trade with Singapore reached US$7.78 billion, with exports totaling US$2.94 billion and imports amounting to US$4.84 billion.Meanwhile, in 2025, Indonesia's total trade with Singapore was recorded at US$32.87 billion, with Indonesian exports to Singapore reaching US$13.70 billion and Indonesian imports from Singapore standing at US$19.17 billion.Throughout 2020-2025, Singapore ranked fifth as Indonesia's export destination, while the country was also the second-leading source of Indonesia's imports over the past six years (2020-2025).In 2025, Indonesia recorded US$44.96 billion in food and beverage exports, an annual increase of approximately 2.38 percent. Furthermore, in the Singaporean market, food and beverage performance grew by 49.1 percent annually.
