Jakarta (ANTARA) – Indonesia showcased its sovereign wealth fund and investment agency to Jordan during a meeting between President Prabowo Subianto and King Abdullah II on Saturday, officials said.Minister of Investment and Downstream Industries and Danantara CEO Rosan Roeslani, who accompanied the president, said the meeting was requested by the Jordanian government to gain a detailed understanding of Danantara’s operations.“The agenda today was at the request of the Jordanian government to give a presentation and understanding of Danantara,” Roeslani said after the discussion.Established in February 2025, Danantara functions as Indonesia’s sovereign wealth fund (SWF) and strategic investment management agency, tasked with optimizing and consolidating government assets to support national economic transformation.Jordan is planning to set up its own sovereign wealth fund and sought insights from Danantara’s structure and approach, which is considered a strategic reference for managing state investment.The meeting featured a presentation followed by an in-depth dialogue exploring potential cooperation and ways to strengthen investment frameworks to support economic initiatives.“The Jordanian government is planning to create a sovereign wealth fund. We provided a presentation and also engaged in discussion,” Roeslani said. He added that King Abdullah appreciated the explanation and offered constructive feedback.President Prabowo highlighted the longstanding diplomatic relations between the two countries, noting that Indonesia and Jordan have maintained close ties for 74 years.“Our countries have enjoyed strong relations since diplomatic ties were established in October 1951. Personally, I also have an emotional bond with Jordan,” Prabowo said, recalling his warm reception by the late King Hussein more than two decades ago.
