Jakarta (ANTARA) – President Prabowo Subianto underscored Jordan’s key role as Indonesia’s partner in promoting international peace and supporting the Palestinian cause during a state dinner for King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein in Jakarta on Friday evening.”We are more than just partners; we share a strong bond of brotherhood and friendship,” Prabowo said in a press release issued on Saturday.He stressed that ties between Indonesia and Jordan are rooted in brotherhood and must be preserved for future generations.King Abdullah II expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome extended to him and the Jordanian delegation during the visit.He noted that Indonesia holds an important position in the global Muslim community, particularly through its diplomacy during challenging periods.The King said he visited Indonesia not only as a head of state but also as a brother committed to strengthening the historical bond between the two nations.He added that Jordan’s support for Indonesia during difficult times reflects the spirit of genuine brotherhood.The state dinner also symbolized the enduring solidarity and close relationship between Indonesia and Jordan, which established diplomatic ties in 1951.Before the dinner, President Prabowo and King Abdullah II held a bilateral meeting, during which the King presented the “Bejeweled Grand Cordon Al Nahda” (Order of the Renaissance) to the President.
