Entrepreneurship study programs are highly relevant in addressing future challenges through innovation downstreaming and the creation of new jobs,Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology continues to strengthen higher education transformation by building an entrepreneurship ecosystem based on technology, industrial needs, and national development challenges.Acting Secretary General at the ministry, Badri Munir Sukoco, said in a statement here on Friday that entrepreneurship study programs are among the key tools for realizing the ministry's vision of an inclusive, flexible, and impactful higher education system in support of Golden Indonesia 2045.”We need to recognize that science- and technology-based entrepreneurs are becoming increasingly important. Entrepreneurship study programs are highly relevant in addressing future challenges through innovation downstreaming and the creation of new jobs,” he remarked.Sukoco highlighted the challenges posed by Indonesia's demographic bonus and the country's high unemployment rate, including among university graduates.He stressed that universities need to transform into entrepreneurial universities that not only produce job-ready graduates but also nurture job creators driven by science and technology.”We are encouraging stronger collaboration among universities, regional governments, industries, financing institutions, and associations to build a more integrated entrepreneurship ecosystem,” he said.Meanwhile, Deputy for Entrepreneurship at the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) M. Riza Damanik said entrepreneurship development is one of the keys to accelerating national economic growth while reducing unemployment.”We must encourage more young people to become strong entrepreneurs. It is impossible for Indonesia to become a developed country without an adequate entrepreneurship ratio to drive economic growth and create jobs,” Damanik said.Chairman of the Indonesian Entrepreneurship Study Program Alliance (APSKI) Sonny Rustiadi emphasized that entrepreneurship education must help students solve local challenges, create regional added value, and drive universities toward becoming true entrepreneurial institutions.”Entrepreneurship education not only prepares students to enter the workforce but also equips them to create jobs and provide solutions to economic challenges in their respective regions,” Rustiadi remarked.
